Activities

Great Migration

Nothing quite captures the true spirit of East Africa, like Sarova’s world of exciting incentives in Kenya’s richest game reserve, the Masai Mara. Famous for The Great Migration and acclaimed as the Home of The Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant, and Rhino).

Game Drives

The Masai Mara Game Reserve is the natural habitat for leopards, cheetahs, hippos, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes and many other game animals. Our excellently trained guides and drivers will ensure a memorable game drive in specially equipped safari Land Rover vehicles stocked with binoculars, books and a cooler box. We also offer a packed picnic lunch for guests who want to go for a leisurely game drive.

Hot Air Balloon Safaris

A hot air balloon ride is one of the most amazing ways to experience the Masai Mara. The hot air balloon safaris are ideally suited at the Masai Mara in the open, treeless plains allowing many of the animals to be seen from the air and viewed from an altitude of several thousand feet. The savannah scenery is breath-taking. Balloon safaris take off just before dawn so that you are high above the plains in time for sunrise. Flights last for approximately one-hour drifting wherever the air current takes you. Once back on terra firma, the flight is celebrated with a glass of champagne and a breakfast in the bush.

Walking Safaris- Nature Trail

A selection of long walks on the nature trails is on offer within the greater Mara area along the periphery of the park. The walks give a scenic view of the wildlife, birdlife, plant-life as well as topography that the Masai Mara is famous for. The duration of these walks is approximately 2 1/2 to 3 hours covering a distance of 9 - 15 km and includes a packed lunch and game drives en route to and from the walking safari location. These wildlife safaris help you understand the flora and fauna of the region and also make you relish the beauty of nature in the great wild outdoors. These wildlife trails are a perfect way to soak in the way of life in this African paradise.

Isokon Masai Culture

Sarova Mara Game Camp has the rare distinction of being located next to a traditional Masai Village, known as "The Isokon Masai Cultural Village", a true showcase of Masai culture. Guests can interact with the Masai people and watch them work their crafts like beadwork and wood carving.

Community Work

Guests can visit various community projects supported by Sarova Mara Game Camp, participate and contribute to the same.

Dining in the Bush

Sarova Mara Game Camp has built a solid reputation for producing inspiring gourmet meals in a remote and wild setting. Standards of food preparation and culinary protocol are unmatched elsewhere in the bush. Cuisine on the menu is both imaginative and tasteful and embodies the Sarova Hotels cuisine brand- “Kitchens of Sarova”. Sarova Mara Game Camp excels in the freshness and quality of its food, supported by the camp’s own vegetable and herb garden.

Sarova Mara’s chefs are readily available to cater for most special dietary requirements and meal preferences.

Special customised menus are created as per guests’ preference and an exciting display of a live Masai cultural dance provides the cultural ambience and entertainment all evening.

Boma dining

A real-life experience of dinner in a traditional Masai Manyatta (homestead).

Enjoy this exotic dining experience under the majesty of Star-Studded African skies accentuated by log bonfire and laced with cultural dances and lively entertainment.
